EN 9100 – Aviation, Space and Defence
EN 9100 is applicable to all manufacturers in the aviation, space and defence sector, from upstream suppliers to the subcontracting network. It is also applicable to service companies (mainly engineering, laboratories and technical support companies) serving these sectors.
It is intended to be used by organisations that design, develop and/or produce aviation, space or defence products, and by organisations that provide post-delivery support, including the provision of maintenance, spares or materials for their own products.
Goals of 9100
- Increase competitiveness through certification according to the ICOP scheme, which is strongly recognised worldwide.
- Improve the prestige and image of the company.
- Reduction in the number of customer audits.
- Worldwide recognition by being included in a database as a supplier of aerospace products and services (OASIS).
- Establish a common standard of quality norms, requirements and techniques.
- Establish methods for sharing results.
- Establish continuous improvement processes among suppliers.
EN 9100 Certification with EQA
- EQA was one of the first certification bodies accredited by ENAC / TEDAE to certify EN 9100.
- EQA has a large team of authenticated auditors.
What is ICOP (Industry Controlled Other Party)?
- Industry Controlled: Self-regulation by the aerospace industry. Control is by aircraft manufacturers and Tier 1 suppliers.
- Other Party: Combination of second party (customers) and third party (certifiers) audits controlled by the industry through UNE-EN 9104.
