La Liga Independent Expert Audit
The Articles of Association of the Spanish National Professional Football League (LaLiga) establish the obligation for its affiliated clubs to adopt and effectively implement organisational and management models that include the appropriate monitoring and control measures to prevent the commission of crimes or significantly reduce the risk of their commission, in the terms provided for in article 31 bis of the Criminal Code.
Likewise, these models must contain the surveillance or control measures and plans that, at any given time, are required by LaLiga in terms of Integrity, to avoid actions aimed at predetermining, determining or altering at any time and/or in any way, by means of price, intimidation or simple agreements, the result of a match or competition.
To this end, the Clubs must submit to LaLiga, among other documents, and on an annual basis, an audit report from an independent expert third party that accredits the adoption and effective implementation of the aforementioned models, as well as the periodic supervision and, where appropriate, the possible modification or adaptation of the same that may have had to be carried out due to changes in the organisation, control structure, in the activity carried out or because relevant infringements have been detected.
As part of its compliance assessment services, EQA has qualified personnel and includes in its services the Independent Expert Audit according to La Liga criteria.
